Cranberries: A powerful superfood for your dog

If you’re into checking out ingredient panels as much as we are you may have spotted Cranberries featured amongst Kiwi Country’s more unconventional ingredients. Including Cranberries in dry dog food might seem a tad bougee, but there are some key reasons why Cranberries are a Superfood for dogs.

🐶 Antioxidants
Cranberries are rich in antioxidants and can help boost your dog’s immune system, protect teeth by reducing plaque and tartar buildup, prevent inflammation and food allergies. Cranberries are also high in potassium and manganese; both promote growth and strong bones.

🐶 Bladder Health
Proanthocyanidins are the chemical compounds in cranberries that give them their rich red colour and can help prevent the growth of bacteria responsible for urinary tract infections.

🐶 Strengthen Immunity
Cranberries also contain vitamin E, C, and K. Vitamin E can help reduce the risk of heart disease in dogs. Vitamin C reduces inflammation and supports brain health as dogs grow older. Vitamin K assists heart health by reducing the risk of blood clotting.

With such a long list of benefits we’re proud to include Cranberries in all Kiwi Country dry dog food recipes.
